Creating a Demonstrative Speech

Part of my training in becoming a secondary education major requires me to take an audio visual education class. For this particular audio visual class, I was tasked with creating a digital lesson plan utilizing two technological tools to teach a lesson and two technological tools that students would need to use to complete the project. Taking into consideration the Guam public school curriculum in a high school language arts class, students will be responsible for creating a demonstrative speech along with other types of speeches.

So, in an effort to both create a student-centered learning environment and encourage the use of technology in the classroom and beyond, I have created a lesson plan in which students will get into groups and create a digital demonstrative speech. This lesson is a three week lesson that will take place completely on-line. Students will be divided into groups and be responsible for creating a digital demonstrative speech, evaluating each others performance, and evaluating the products of other groups.

In creating this lesson plan, I used the ASSURE Method. The following are the components of my ASSURE lesson plan in which my lesson plan appears:
ANALYZE LEARNERS
STATE OBJECTIVES
SELECT INSTRUCTIONAL METHODS, MEDIA, & MATERIALS
UTILIZE MEDIA & MATERIALS
REQUIRE LEARNER PARTICIPATION
EVALUATE & REVISE
RESOURCES
